Diving in Cozumel

Diving in Cozumel is an opportunity to explore the best reef in Mexico. Jacques Cousteau, even described it as one of the best in the world.

Cozumel has more than 25 different sites, for all levels. It was declared a Marine Park, protected by the Federal Government of Mexico in 1979 and possesses an impressive biodiversity. You just can’t miss it!

The island of Cozumel is 48 km long by 18 km wide and 12 nautical miles from Playa del Carmen. Most of the diving sites are located on the west side of Playa del Carmen.

Diving sites in Cozumel are: Santa Rosa, Palancar, Maracaibo or Colombia, Dalila, La Francesa, Tormentos, Paso El Cedral, Paradise, Chankanaab, Yucab, Punta Tunich, San Francisco.

What to expect? It’s a full day excursion: we leave early in the morning to the ferry dock, the ferry takes 40 minutes to get to the island, and from there, we head to the reefs on very comfortable boats (with shade and restrooms). We’ll have 2 dives and in between you’ll have time to rest and eat some snacks and have some water. We’ll return by ferry back to Playa del Carmen by mid afternoon.

* Ferry not included, and marine park fee (7us).

Duration: 5 hours

Requirements: A minimum age of 10 years; good state of health; not taking flights at least 18 hours after your last dive; PADI Open Water Certification.

Where do we meet? If you’re in Playa del Carmen’s city center, we’ll pick you up for no extra cost. So, in case you’re staying anywhere else, we’ll have a meeting point.
