From November to February, female bull sharks visit the coast of Playa del Carmen — offering certified divers the chance to encounter these powerful animals up close. Dive at around 25 m / 80 ft with our professional PADI instructors in small, controlled groups, following strict safety standards.
The experience includes two dives: the first with the bull sharks, the second dive in Playa del Carmen coral reef. Enjoy crystal-clear visibility, warm Caribbean waters, and the thrill of diving alongside nature’s top predator — all in a safe and eco-friendly environment.

Itinerary for the dive with bull sharks
- Meeting point: Acuaticaribe Dive Center (Playa del Carmen).
- Check-in & briefing about shark behavior and safety protocols.
- First dive – Bull Shark Encounter (~25 m / 80 ft).
- Surface interval with refreshments.
- Second dive – Scuba Diving in Playa del Carmen Coral reef nearby.
- Return to the dive shop, logbook, and debriefing.
Total duration: about 4 hours.
Requirements & Safety
- Minimum certification: Open Water Diver with previous deep-dive experience (or equivalent).
- Recent diving experience recommended (last dive within 12 months).
- No feeding during the dive. Observation is natural and non-intrusive.
- Conducted under official port-authority regulations and safety protocols.
- 0 incidents in over 10 years of operation.

Two daily departures:

Is the dive with bull sharks safe?
Yes. Our dives follow strict safety procedures with small groups and experienced PADI instructors. Sharks are observed calmly and naturally.
Do you feed the sharks?
No, we do not feed them. It’s an ethical, natural encounter that respects marine life.
How deep is the dive?
Around 25 m / 80 ft. The second dive is shallower, on a coral reef.
What certification do I need?
At least Open Water Diver certification with prior deep-dive experience and good buoyancy skills.
How long does the trip take?
About 4 hours in total, including both dives and surface interval.
Cancellation Policy
- A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking.
- Cancellations made 7 days or more before the activity are fully refundable.
- Cancellations made less than 24 Hours before the activity are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled subject to availability.
- If the Port Authority closes the sea due to weather conditions, you may choose to reschedule or receive a full refund.
- No-shows on the day of the dive are non-refundable.
