Description

Diving Cenote Dream Gate

Diving Cenote Dream Gate is a less known dive by cenote first-timer, but as spectacular as Dos Ojos

Located further in the jungle, in a forest dominated by the Zapote trees, diving cenote Dream Gate brings you in connection with nature and it’s underworld.

Cenote Dream Gate is world renowned, as part of the original Sac Actun system, the largest underground river systems in the world. It also gives you the chance to explore 2 cavern circuits of about 40 minutes each, while observing huge calcareous columns, stalactites and stalagmites.

What are cenotes? At some point in time, sharks and whales were swimming where we now eat breakfast today. Thousands of years ago, sediments and coral reef started to accumulate and slowly  Certain scientist explain it by a meteorite, other simply justify it by ice eras, but the sea level went down, leaving the peninsula like a cheese gruyere made out of calcareous matter. This porous ground acting as a filter with every rain drop, the cheese wholes slowly filled with water and the Cenotes were born.
